Last night, Susan, the girls, and I went to see the Cirque du Soleil show (Quidam) in Tel Aviv. In essence, Cirque du Soleil takes classical circus skills and presents them in a supercharged environment, full of dance, acrobatics, and music, and wrapping it all up – loosely – in a story line.
I have no idea what the story line was supposed to be. But I do know I liked what I saw. The skill, grace, athleticism, and flowing presentation on show, was amazing. There were many difficult routines presented, and some dangerous ones done without safety harness or nets. Simply wonderful.
We had tickets for the show cancelled due to the last Gaza war, and so it was especially good to see the troupe carry out their promise to perform, so that the cancellation became a mere postponement. Judging by the enthusiastic response of the audience, we were not the only ones who enjoyed the evening and were glad of the opportunity to see such high class entertainment.
