Apparently the Pope is in town. Trust the Guardian to want to use the visit as a way to beat up on Israel. As the excellent CIF Watch reports here (on this piece and this piece):

So, to recap: the pope’s visit to a site which Palestinians seek to draw attention to is a sign of independence, while his subsequent visit to a site which Israelis seek to draw attention to is act of appeasement.

CIF Watch gets it right. The Guardian loves to be a platform to bash Israel. It’s so transparent, you wonder what justification they have dreamed up to explain it all away. But at the core, it’s probably bigotry.
