The latest Center for World University Rankings are now available. Unsurprisingly, the USA has a whopping 57 out of the top 100. Runners up – and really, they have been well and truly lapped – are England and Japan with 6 each. Then France with 5, and Israel and Canada with 4 each. Scotland has 1 in the top 100.
The Israeli entrants:
- Hebrew University is #21
- Weizmann Institute is #33
- Tel Aviv University is #57
- Technion is #66
The Scottish entrant:
- University of Edinburgh is #45

Note 2: You can see the methodology here.
Note 3: I guess the dons at the Universities of Glasgow and Strathclyde, and probably St. Andrews, are less than happy about not making the list. Probably the crew at Ben Gurion University of the Negev are not exactly ecstatic either.
Note 4: I first saw this at the Elder of Ziyon site. Thanks, Elder!
