Bnei Brak story

Object of desire

Object of desire

Over Shabbat, a friend told of her visit to the ultra orthodox area of Bnei Brak. Reaching  the shop which was the reason for being in Bnei Brak, she suddenly realized she had left her cellphone in the car, in plain sight. The shop owner scoffed at her concerns, telling her that in Bnei Brak people did not break into cars, and she had no need to worry about her cellphone. So, taking the shop owner as being knowledgeable in these affairs, my friend continued her business in the shop.

After completing her mission, she returned to her car, still worried about her cellphone.  She needn’t have worried; her cellphone was still there. However, the two Israeli flags she had on her car had been stolen…

One (half serious) suggestion was that the flags had been taken by some kid for a ‘Show and Tell’ session at school.
